There is no city more festiva-minded than the Gold Coast; meaning GYG has found its true home. The GC is thriving with energy and celebrates every occasion. What else would you expect from one of the world’s most beautiful waterfront cities, built on the glory of world-class beaches, sporting facilities and of course, Australia’s most famous parties? Even GYG’s very own festivas made this day, Robina and Burleigh heads have been two of GYG’s largest free burrito days with a combined total of nearly 12,500 burritos flying out of our kitchens in the festive spirit!!!!
Most importantly, it’s where Australians can live out their Katy Perry ‘California Girls’ dream, eating a GYG Cali burrito while skating or rollerblading under the palms on the GC esplanade. 3. It’s home to some of Australia’s Biggest Parties
We all remember (or don’t remember) sending off our twelve years of schooling with a jello shot before hitting up the beach parties at Surfers Paradise. At the ripe age of 18, it’s one of the best weeks of our lives. But the Gold Coast is also hosting the Uni Games, a birth child of schoolies and a weekend sports tournament for uni students from around the nation. In 2017 GYG it also hosted GYG’s biggest party yet, our 100th store opening of our Burleigh Heads Drive-Thru.
2. The Gold Coast really is the Best of all Worlds and full of celebrities!
Just like California, the Gold Coast is also home to some of the world’s most notable celebrities. Batman, Superman and Marilyn Monroe are all awaiting your arrival at Movie World. Yet once again Australia’s festiva location brings together travellers from every reach to the likes of Dreamworld, Wet ‘n Wild, Sea World and more! These adrenaline parks create festiva vibes for people of all ages
1. The Gold Coast is one of Australia’s largest Sporting Hubs
The 2018 Commonwealth Games was arguably Australia’s largest sporting event since the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Athletes, spectators, volunteers and workers alike flew from every reach to support our heroic athletes in green and gold. More than ever, in 2018 GYG was proud to be supporting our passionate people. We’ve continued on this passion by fuelling all athletes, from our little G’s to our Big G’s throughout the GC. A shout out to our hard-working legends that played at the 2019 Seahawks GYG Junior Basketball competition from more than 100 teams! We can’t wait for the GC’s sport to start back up so we can get back out there and support our local teams.
