We get a lot of female customers referring to themselves as “The Queen of GYG.” We also get a fair few male customers referring to themselves as “The Queen of GYG” – btw, congrats boys!
But we think this customer takes the cake! At the very least, she takes the burrito.
Australia, meet Madee! Or, meet Madee’s ankle, featuring her new GYG tattoo:
This is a photo of Madee taken directly from her Facebook. If she’s not busy playing DJ decks, she’s busy playing Mexican food.
We had a chat with Madee online to find out why she got a GYG tattoo and what made her the Queen of GYG.
- What made you want to get a GYG tattoo?
There was a post on the Guzman y Gomez official facebook page a few weeks ago talking about how a young child got a GYG themed birthday cake on their birthday. I was tagged in this multiple times and I commented saying that I was GYG’s biggest fan and I’d do anything I could to prove it. Someone who works for the social media area of GYG replied saying “I don’t know.. this is pretty impressive”. I then came up with the idea of getting a GYG tattoo to prove my loyalty to the brand, and was then directed to email GYG directly to discuss it further. So I guess it was just a joke at first but then it became a reality a few weeks later and I’m still laughing about it.
- Where did you get it done and who helped you with the design?
A tattoo artist on the Sunshine Coast named Georgia Collier did the design and also tattooed me. She was recommended by one of my friends Laura who knew Georgia specialised in smaller tattoos. Georgia got back to me with a design in less than a day and I was more than happy with it. She works at Mr Ink Tattoo Lounge – Steven Perry Tattoos – Self Inflicted Tattoos. I recommend this establishment highly! All of the employees take their job super seriously and are more than welcoming.
- Describe your personality?
I’d consider myself to have an extremely bubbly, over the top and confident personality. I find almost anything entertaining and will go through with things if I say I’ll do them.
- How long did it take and how much did it cost?
The tattoo itself probably took around an hour and 45 minutes, and cost me $200.
- What did your friends & family say about the tattoo?
Well my family said that they thought it was cute and a lot of my friends have been telling me that I’m a “hero” and a “goddess”. I’ve not yet received any negative feedback and to be completely honest I couldn’t really care less if I did. The tattoo is super cute and almost hidden away on the inside of my ankle so it isn’t like anybody else has to see it but me. I love it!
- How often do you visit GYG and where is your local?
I probably go to GYG once or twice a week considering it’s literally 2 minutes around the corner from me. My local is North Lakes and it’s honestly the best one anyway so I’m stoked.
- What’s your meal of choice at GYG?
Depends how hungry I am, if I’m only semi hungry ill get a mild chicken burrito add sour cream and guacamole, but if I’m super hungry and borderline dying I’ll get a mild chicken enchilada with extra sour cream and guacamole.
- What do you love most about GYG?
The service there is always unreal, I’ve never had a bad experience at GYG. Having worked in customer service for most of my life while I study, it’s a really big thing for me and something I always notice when going somewhere. Another thing is obviously the food. I’ve never had anything gross tasting or disgusting looking and the majority of the time it looks exactly like the picture. I guess I just feel really disappointed and let down if something doesn’t look like the picture. GYG delivers every time.
We love your dedication Madee! And we hereby anoint thee, The Queen of GYG!
Which brings us to our King. That would have to be the ultimate die-hard GYG fan, R.G. Wings.
See, Madee wasn’t the first GYG fan to get a tat. A few months back, this legend got this done:
Right before he recorded a rap song dedicated to his love of GYG burritos.
He’s a rapper who’s got some serious Mac Miller vibes going on. So ladies, if you want to be the Australian Ariana Grande, slide into his DMs before he blows up!
Ladies and gentlemen, all hail the new King and Queen of Guzman y Gomez!
