Which restaurant did you open first?
Crow’s Nest was my first restaurant followed by MLC, and then Northpoint.
Which restaurant are you most proud of and why?
Each and every one, I honesty have no favourites. Each store has its own personality, rhythm, trade times, customer volume and customer types. If I have to pick out one thing I like in each;
Crow’s Nest–Community feel and connection to our regular customers. I really enjoy being a part of the local community and helping out in my area.
MLC– In the heart of the Sydney CBD the MLC restaurant is one I am extremely proud of for the pure speed and controlled chaos that is an MLC lunch – there’s nothing like it!!
Northpoint -My teams attitude, competitiveness and dedication to continued focus on the food and the Customer is what equals success.
What made you want to be a GYG franchisee?
I worked in hospitality and retail from a young age and I enjoy sales. I wanted to run my own business but also be a part of a community of likeminded people. GYG fits me and I it.
What is your favourite part of owning a restaurant?
Seeing the development of my crew. I have trained many people over my time, with some going on to bigger and better things – it makes me proud to see their growth.
What is one piece of advice you would give to any potential future GYG franchisees?
Listen and ask questions. Listen to your crew, customers, store and the GYG support office. You’re not always on the same page, sometimes it can feel like a different book, but our goals are the same – Be the best! The support I receive from head office and the GYG franchisee community has helped me to get to where I am today.
