Smaller portions sizes of our favourite foods are not new. But, the Mini’s range from GYG is so much more than that. It’s the newest way to customise the GYG menu to meet your health and nutrition goals. At GYG you’ve always been able to customise your meal – swapping for a whole-wheat tortilla, adding guac, getting double meat, removing ingredients and more – and now you can add smaller portion sizes to these options. If you’ve got a smaller appetite or you’re trying to reduce your portion sizes, then the Mini’s are a no-brainier. It’s never been easier to keep your food and health goals on-track while still enjoying GYG’s delicious, authentic Mexican food.
1. Up Your Veggie Game

It’s no surprise that the Mini Salads are first on the list. A Mini Salad without dressing is only 6% of the average recommended daily energy intake. This makes it the perfect addition to any meal or a healthy on-the-go snack. If you’re thinking boring or tasteless side-salads think again! Our salads are fresh and crisp, with fillings that are seasoned in all the zesty Mexican flavours that GYG is famous for.
Even the Minis still pack a veggie punch. Our salads with meat-fillings provide over one-quarter of your 5-a-day vegetables and the sautéed vegetable filling provides 2.5 serves of your 5-a-day. If you struggled with high school math, then let me break that down for you – that’s half your daily veggies in one sitting.
Choose chicken, beef, pork, steak or barramundi for a great source of protein, or sautéed vegetables for our vegan/vegetarian friends out there!
Most of us aren’t getting enough fibre, so adding a GYG Mini Salad to your next order is the most delicious way to make sure you’re hitting your daily 5.
2. Find balance
Minis are the perfect way to enjoy a more indulgent item at a size that makes it easier to stay on track! Combining Mini’s is a great way to strike the balance between what you want and what you need.
For example, ordering Mini Nachos with a Mini Sautéed Vegetable Salad (without dressing) will save you at least 1600kJ (or 380Cal) per serving compared to regular Nachos – that’s equivalent to around 45min on the treadmill!
It also provides one-third less fat per serve, is an excellent source of fibre and an extra serve of vegetables.
In fact, Mini Nachos with a Mini Sautéed Vegetable Salad has 3.8 serves of vegetables – that’s over three-quarters of your 5-a-day. And like our regular Nachos, it’s still low in sugar and a good source of protein!
Can you think of a more perfect, delicious balance?
3. Lighten up on carbs
Got carbs on your mind? A great way to lighten up the carbohydrate of your burrito is to choose a Mini Burrito and a Mini Salad without the dressing! You get the same high source of protein with one-third less carbohydrates per serve than a regular burrito. It’s also an amazing source of fibre and provides over 2 serves of vegetables per serve. To put it simply, Minis are a lighter way to enjoy GYG’s authentic burrito flavour.
There you have it! Three easy and new ways to customise the GYG menu to help you with your nutritional and health goals!
